Although the Erasmus University campus does offer a number of business related events for students, these are all nearly exclusively reserved for Dutch students. With the support of the ESAA Career Opportunities’ grants, ESN Rotterdam set out to organize a day in which international students and Dutch companies, through business cases and a networking drink, could get to know each other.
The day was kicked off by our keynote speaker, ESN alumnus Anthony Doerga, who managed to get the students fired up for the rest of the day. During the business case sessions, students were invited to work on real-life challenges that the attending companies have to face. The companies BimBimBikes, KPN, and Allocacoc were all present for the business day session, as well as ECE Students, the Erasmus Center for Entrepreneurship. During the networking drink, these organizations were joined by representatives of Unilever, PWC, Cocoon, ShoppingGuide, and Housing Anywhere, allowing the students to make new relationships that can possibly lead to professional opportunities.
Overall, and thanks to ESAA’s support, the International Business Day was a success with over 75 Erasmus+ participants attending, and it will most certainly be held again in the future.
