At the ESAA December meeting in Bonn from 14-16 December 2018, representatives from all four member organisations came together to learn about project applications and project management.
The trainer, an EU Project Applications expert, gave an introduction into the EU funded projects as well as a discourse on the important milestones within project management.
After a few ice-breakers with the ESAA capacity building task force, the Project Officers working on the ESAA application process gave an overview of how best to apply for an ESAA project. They gave insight to the general vision of the projects as well as offering useful tipps of what is especially important when submitting ones application.
A crucial part of the internal training was to bring together members of the four organisations and foster collaboration between organisations. Many of the project opportunities require at least two MOs of ESAA to apply together to receive funding.
That is why in the second half of the training all participants were put into mixed teams to work on a project idea that could fit one or more of the ESAA Project clusters. Afterwards all teams were able to pitch their project and receive constructive feedback from the trainer and the other teams.
Overall the training was a great success offering its participants hands on experience and knowledge on how to apply for project funds and of course brought the different participants of the members organisations closer together. The participants are encouraged to become multipliers in their organisations and support others with their application skills.
We look forward to the hopefully numerous and successful projects that will derive from this training.
