E+ Promo,

The European Commission published the final report on the "Study on the impact of Erasmus+ Higher Education Partnerships and Knowledge Alliances at local, national and European levels on key Higher Education policy priorities". It aims at contributing to the overall assessment of the Erasmus+ programme and to the next generation of the EU programme. Furthermore, it also supports the dimension of transnational cooperation and its relevance for national and European policy development.

Key findings and outcome of this study are:

Did you know that students from Southern Europe and Partner Countries reported higher gains from their mobility experience? Also, Erasmus+ participants experience new teaching methods and learning practices while abroad. 2/3 of these participants reported that they have started using new learning techniques after their mobility. Further the Erasmus(+) teaching staff use innovative teaching methods more often than non-mobile teaching staff. Partner Country staff scored highest on using new teaching methods. At last, Partner Country staff are the most socially engaged of all staff groups.

Did you know that Partner Country participants report that the Erasmus+ experience helped them with their careers? Participants from Partner Countries are more likely to find good careers in their home countries and, therefore, contribute to the local economy. Erasmus+ also helps to build links between nations not only on the abstract level of identity and politics but also on the concrete level of personal relationships.

Did you know that the demand for mobility is higher than student mobility places available? This especially concerns Partner Countries. In addition, the Erasmus+ programme also has a gratifying impact on partner HEIs. All HEIs believe that the continuation of Erasmus+ is extremely important. HEIs in Partner Countries emphasise that the recognition of prior learning is highly valued.

Did you know that the Erasmus+ programme is one of the longest running and the largest higher education international mobility programme in the world? The Erasmus+ participation is enriching academically, socially, personally and in terms of the development of employability to students. Staff often underline the importance of establishing new or enhancing existing collaborations and networks to acquire new knowledge and to being exposed to new learning and teaching methods. International mobility remains very popular among higher education institutions. In most cases the demand for mobility regarding staff or student is higher than the supply, underlining the popularity of Erasmus+.
