The ESAA project "Workshops and mentoring a multimodality interactive e-book for teachers and lecturers" is a collaborative social event in Indonesia with local and international universities and organizations. It is a training to improve literacy awareness. The workshop and mentoring focus on how to design an interactive book with a multimodality concept which is ISBN-oriented. The proejct will host between 3000 and 5000 teachers from all provinces in Indonesia.  

Based on the problem of literacy in Indonesia, the project collaborates with the International Literacy Association (ILA), Indonesian teachers Association, teachers Publisher, University of Sebelas Maret , Erasmus community in west Kalimantan and local government and Unit of Ministry of Education to design the training to improve literacy awareness. The workshop and mentoring focusses on how to design textbooks for lessons which are ISBN-oriented. ISBN stands for international serial book number which can be found on a published book.

The teachers and lecturers are taught and learn about

• how to start a book (looking for ideas, strategies for obtaining materials and writing, and create a writing outline);
• necessary and unnecessary things in the manual (as needed for the book in order to have traction, create compelling titles and develop writing ideas);
• technical and language aspects of writing books (technical writing, layout and style);
• manuscript management and publishing;
• share the experience of writing a book (writing motivation, tips for starting and finishing Books; and, Practice (making textbook writing framework / teaching)
