During the summer break 2023, ESN Romania volunteer had participated in the training called ImpROvement: Human Rights Education ESAA-funded project, with two main activities took place in the beautiful Romanian cities, Targu Mures and Timisoara. The first event was held in Targu Mures from 20-23 July 2023 with 59 attendees, including the local organising team and the trainers. The second event was held in Timisoara from 07-10 September 2023 with 65 attendees, including the local organising team and the trainers.

Through the ImpROvements, over 100 volunteers from diverse backgrounds had sharing a common drive for interculturality and international education. The ESAA project has boosted the quality of the event, started from selected internal pool of facilitators of ESN Romania, conducted the needs assessments and tailored the workshops based on the  input from the participants.

The outcome of the two events led to stronger collaboration between the local organisations of ESN Romania in Targu Mures and Timiçoara and the International Relations Offices of the local HEIs (the George Emil Palade University of Targu Mures, the West University of Timisoara, and the Polytechnic University in Timisoara), as the two events would not have been possible without the strong support of the HEIs that provided affordable accommodation in their student dorms, and most importantly workshop and conference rooms.

The ESAA project, through the two events as its main activities, contributed towards the ESAA Cluster 2, Component 2, and Cluster 4, Component 3. As an outcome, the volunteers of ESN Romania are now better prepared to meet the new Erasmus students in Romania and to provide them quality support, and the advocacy activities that they will implement for the Erasmus+ Programme in the new academic year will have higher impact.
