EU support to the Erasmus+ Student and Alumni networks: Overview of EOI submissions

An overview of alumni- and student-led Erasmus+ activities in 2025, highlighting submitted EOIs and those recommended for Erasmus+ funding worldwide.

The Erasmus+ Support Programme provides operational support to four Erasmus+ student and alumni networks: EMA, OCEANS, ESN and garagErasmus. In addition to these, it extends its support to two regional platforms, ASAF and WBAA.
The programme enables network members to design and deliver local, community-based activities that promote the opportunities offered by Erasmus+ and inspire new participants. By working at a local level, these initiatives empower alumni and students to engage directly with young people within their own communities and networks.

A wide range of activities can be supported, including:

  • Networking and professional development opportunities
  • Promotion of European Union programmes to broader audiences
  • Sharing personal Erasmus+ experiences to encourage participation
  • Grassroots initiatives that benefit local communities
  • Mentoring activities to guide and inspire future Erasmus+ participants

All activities must be endorsed by the relevant network boards and take place in eligible countries. Support is strategically allocated across regions, with 40% directed to EU Member States and associated countries, 20% to Sub-Saharan Africa, and smaller allocations to other regions including the Western Balkans, South Mediterranean, Asia, Latin America and North America.
Cross network collaboration is strongly encouraged. Activities may also be implemented in cooperation with EU Delegations (EUDs), Erasmus+ National Focal Points (ENFPs) and other EU, national, or local stakeholders, helping to extend both impact and reach.

Overview of 2025 Activities

In 2025, Erasmus+ alumni volunteers dedicated their time and expertise to organising 100 activities, reaching more than 6,000 participants across their local communities and countries. These initiatives placed a strong emphasis on alumni engagement, motivating future Erasmus+ participants, and creating positive local impact.
The supported activities covered a broad spectrum, including networking and professional development sessions, awareness raising events and workshops on European Union programmes, opportunities to share personal Erasmus+ journeys, grassroots volunteering and community outreach initiatives, and mentoring activities designed to inspire prospective participants.

Activities took place in various regions. 36% took place in EU Member States and associated countries, 32% in Sub-Saharan Africa, and 10% in Asia, with the remaining activities distributed across regions such as the Western Balkans, South Mediterranean, Latin America and North America.
The documents provided offer a comprehensive overview of the alumni-led activities supported in 2025 and complement the list of approved activities published on the ESAA website. Each Expression of Interest (EOI) is assigned a unique submission number and presented in numerical order for ease of reference.
